A national institution built on evidence, transparency, and due process.
An accountability initiative devoted to verified documentation.
The Cry Wolf Registry is a national, non-partisan accountability initiative dedicated to the documentation of verified cases in which intentionally false allegations have caused significant harm to innocent individuals. Our work is grounded in publicly available court records, formal investigative reports, and objective supporting documentation.
We operate under a rigorous editorial standard and publish only records that meet one of three formal verification tiers. Every entry is designed to withstand independent scrutiny.
To promote accountability through documented, evidence-based reporting of verified false allegations — strengthening due process while supporting truth, transparency, and accountability.
A justice system where intentional false allegations are recognized, documented, and addressed — protecting innocent individuals while strengthening confidence in legitimate claims and the rule of law.
What guides every record we publish.
Truth
Every claim should be supported by objective evidence whenever possible.
Accountability
Intentional deception that causes harm should carry meaningful consequences.
Due Process
Every individual deserves fairness, impartiality, and equal protection under the law.
Transparency
Public trust depends on accurate information and responsible reporting.
Integrity
Facts take precedence over speculation and personal opinion.
Respect
Constructive dialogue strengthens understanding and meaningful reform.
A five-stage process from intake to publication.
Each stage is documented, reviewed, and subject to internal editorial standards. No record is published until every stage is complete.
Case Intake
Submissions are received through the Registry's secure intake channel or identified from publicly available court proceedings and reputable reporting.
Preliminary Review
The editorial team performs an initial assessment for jurisdictional relevance, availability of documentation, and adherence to submission standards.
Documentation Verification
Court records, adjudications, sworn statements, and independent evidence are collected and cross-referenced by verification analysts.
Editorial Review
Records undergo a two-analyst editorial review, followed by a senior review, prior to publication under a defined verification tier.
Publication & Appeal
Verified records are published with redactions consistent with public court records. All entries include a formal correction and appeal pathway.
Three formal tiers of verification.
Every published record is categorized under one of the following tiers. The tier is displayed prominently on the record page along with citations to source documentation.
A court of competent jurisdiction has issued a written finding that the allegation was knowingly false or unsupported by evidence.
A formal investigation, independent counsel report, or administrative determination has concluded the allegation was materially unsubstantiated.
The allegation has been formally retracted and corroborating documentation is publicly available and independently verifiable.
Fairness is not optional. It is the foundation of every record.
- Records are published only after documentation meets our verification standards.
- The presumption of innocence is preserved throughout intake and review.
- Every record includes a documented pathway for appeal and correction.
- Redactions follow the underlying jurisdiction's public record standards.
- Editorial standards prohibit sensationalism, speculation, and advocacy.
